Ensenada Trips:

Setting the Scene:

One of the most popular tourist destinations in Baja, Ensenada is a middle-sized, sprawling town with plenty of excitement and interesting things to see and do. The Transpeninsular highway runs right through town, so it's a necessary stop along your route through Baja, if only to fill up on gas and grab a few fish tacos. But if you stick around a bit longer, you can uncover some gorgeous views, interesting cultural and historical sights, and enough cantinas to keep you happy for quite a while!

Unique sights:

Fish market: On the edge of the harbor, the fish market is a worthwhile sight and holds some delicious cheap restaurants and taco stands. This is the home of the taco de pescado!

Cantinas: Ensenada's Cantinas, both old and new, are legendary. Whether you want to see one of the oldest watering holes in Baja or party with the Spring Breakers, you'll be covered.

Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe, Plaza Civica, Museo Historico Regional: The main cathedral, ethnographic museum, and civic plaza are all worth a visit.

El Sauzal: El Sauzal de Rodriguez is about 9 km North of Ensenada and is a great alternative to busy, noisy Ensenada, especially for places to stay. This sleepy community has a community of resident artists and craftsmen and is in many respects a very typical Mexican town.

La Bufadora: This famous spot is a short day trip from Ensenada. It is one of the most powerful blowholes on Pacific Ocean, where water is squeezed up between cave rocks and rises to a height of up to 16 meters! It is best viewed during a rising tide.

Getting there:

ABC Bus: The trip from Tijuana lasts 1.5 hrs. There are many departures daily, leaving approx. every half hour. Can be booked online.
